Beyond the Sound is an independent place of discussion and critique of music, music history, multi-media art and the philosophy around art. The philosophy of this publication is to bring music into context and into dialogue with larger ideas. We invite artists to discuss and critique art. Keeping in mind that it can be difficult and unproductive to separate the art from the artist, this publication invites personal opinion and critique from artist and tries to give artists an opportunity to share their thoughts.

This publication is a place for independent artists to share ideas that otherwise wouldn’t be shared and critique pieces that otherwise wouldn’t get critiqued using their own voice. No topic is too experimental to be written about, as long as it is done responsibly with nuance and respect. No generative A.I. output should be passed off as genuine and all credit should be properly attributed.
